Vital stats: The 28-year-old actor grew up in Lancaster, PA. He was about to attend the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University when he was cast in his first major role, “In My Life.” He used to date “Star Trek” star Zachary Quinto. Oh, yeah, he’s also Lea Michele’s bestie. They met while both appearing in “Spring Awakening.”
Where you might have already seen them: He’s a theater and Broadway veteran, best known for his work in “Spring Awakening” but has also appeared in “The Sound Of Music,” “Hair,” “Deathtrap” and “Red,” among others. In addition to his stage work, he’s also made several appearances on “Glee” and “The Good Wife,” as well as a recurring role on “One Life To Live.”
Why you should take notice of him now: This week he stars alongside “Pretty Little Liars” actress Troian Bellisario in the indie “C.O.G.,” based on David Sedaris' short story. In addition to “C.O.G.,” he’s also slated to appear in the animated flick “Frozen,” as well as the upcoming Ryan Murphy HBO adaptation of “The Normal Heart.”
